Virtual tour of the Abelló Museum #Museusacasa
The Abelló Museum can now be visited virtually through the Google Art Project. The Museus Catalans project in Google Art Project aims to make the heritage of our museums available to everyone.
The Abelló Museum and the Casa del Pintor are on the international web platform Google Art Project. Through Google Street View technology, visitors, from anywhere in the world, can take a virtual tour of the Museum and the House of the Painter, select and locate the most outstanding works and pieces in the facility and get to know them. ne the basic information. In addition, some thirty works by Joan Abelló and the permanent collection are available as a gigaphoto, which allows the user to examine even the smallest details, texture and all the complexities.
All this is possible thanks to the Catalan Museums initiative in the Google Art Project, of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat, for the international promotion of the heritage preserved in Catalan museums and their enhancement. Through this project, 12 Catalan museums are joining this platform that promotes access to art through Google.
The 12 Catalan museums that join the Google platform join the three that were already part of it: the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), the Episcopal Museum of Vic and the Rafael Masó Foundation. They are:
– Abelló Museum (Mollet del Vallès)
– Víctor Balaguer Library-Museum (Vilanova i la Geltrú)
– Pau Casals Foundation (El Vendrell)
– Cau Ferrat Museum (Sitges)
– Jaume Morera Art Museum (Lleida)
– Museum of Modern Art (Tarragona)
– Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (Terrassa)
– Maricel Museum (Sitges)
– National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona
