The toys of the collection is a production of the Joan Abelló Museum in Mollet del Vallés. Coinciding with the Christmas period, the exhibition presents a selection of the toys that Joan Abelló bought throughout the years and, that currently belong to the Museum's Collection.
This exhibition presents one hundred toys, from clowns and harlequins to automatons, traditional toys and even planes. Two of which are military planes and were designed in the fifties by Joan Abelló's brother Andreu Abelló, .
The toy's golden age in Europe took place at the end of the 19th century and was headed by the French brands (Vichy, Jumeau and Roullet Descamps) and the German brands (Kellerman, Lehmann and Märklin). In Spain, the most important brands were Payá and Rico.

Cans from before, Do you remember?

10th December 2008 – 11th January 2009
The gold period for cans took place in the second half of the 19th century, although as from the 60's they fell into decline due to the progressive use of plastic. Meanwhile, cans entered our homes and became essential to preserve food. Besides from their functional value, cans were decorated with lithographs and therefore became a way to advertise a product or a brand. Furthermore, these cans were used to keep all type of objects and articles for personal use.
This exhibition presents more than 400 cans from the Badalona Museum, the Farràs Collection and others. All the cans were produced by G. De Andreis, an Italian factory located in Badalona. This factory operated from 1905 to 1980 and was known as The Can.
