The Open Window – Catalan Landscaping 1860-1936

From May 18 to June 25, 2006 /

“The open window. Catalan landscaping 1860–1936” was a selection of works from different local collections by the most important authors in the history of Catalan art who chose the landscape as the protagonist in their artistic career. From a common thread, historical and chronological, focused on the main artistic movements that have been experienced in Catalonia, the show is a walk from romanticism, in the first third of the nineteenth century, realism and the school of Olot, the new art, the Luminista school of Sitges, the modernism, the noucentisme or the different generations from 1917, until the civil war, by the rupture that entailed.
