Intimidades. La ropa interior de los siglos XIX a XXI

A journey through more than two centuries of history in the hands of underwear, which has experienced a real revolution in a context of profound changes in customs, economy, technology, morality or aesthetics.
More than a hundred female and male pieces that will reveal the evolution of still common pieces (panties, shorts, stockings, combinations …), but also others that have fallen into disuse but played a key role in our grandparents’ wardrobe (men’s leggings, seat belt or sanitary napkins). “Intimacy” also incorporates wrappers and graphic elements related to underwear, as well as a wide collection of images that can be viewed in digital format through various screens.
This is a traveling exhibition organized by the Office of Cultural Heritage of the Presidency Area of the Diputació de Barcelona and the Museum of Badalona. The pieces come from the collection of the Museum of Badalona, the Museum Tomàs Balvey of Cardedeu and private collections.
