The Helena Pielias Observatory
From December 15 to March 17, 2012 /
“The Observatory” started from a banal, anecdotal reality, that of the tourist who tried to capture with his camera everything he wanted to turn into a memory and visual testimony of his journey. Pielias elaborated an ironic narrative reflection on the hunted hunter leaving aside what he considered irrelevant (we never knew what they were photographing in particular and we barely guessed that the stage was Paris) to choose as a target for his observation the amateur photographer and to raise three levels of observation: one corresponding to the objective of the tourist photographers, another by the author who captures them, and, finally, one of the spectators of the resulting works that made up this exhibition and that constituted an essential part of the game.
